Worlds Apart

From Curitiba's well organized transportation system and modern way of life to the Westernmost region of the State of Paraná, seven hours (by bus), 500 kilometers and worlds apart. This photo I took a few days ago as my wife's cousin passes by calmly "driving" his oxcart as he goes from one job to the next. What he does is basically to rent his bulls' power to tilt and plough other people's lands, in properties located throughout the city of Capitão (Captain) Leônidas Marques. People here are waiting for rain in order to sow beans, corn and whatever is profitable. But rains are not coming. I will talk to the oxcart man soon and let you know.
